Ryanair’s new hand luggage rules come into force today

by:YESHINE     2020-12-11
Ryanair\'s latest baggage policy will take effect today-which means you will have to pay for extra hand luggage. The Dublin-
Airlines at headquarters will charge passengers who fly with small suitcases, allowing them to carry a small bag for free.
Passengers who do not pay for priority boarding are currently allowed to carry a small bag on board while another larger bag, such as a wheel trunk of up to 10 kg, can be placed in the cargo compartment for free.
The policy was launched in January as people struggled to find luggage space in overhead lockers, resulting in flight delays.
But Ryanair said the change resulted in as many as 120 bags being labeled at the gate of each flight, meaning the departure was still disturbed.
Free luggage will not be carried from tomorrow.
Passengers will have to pay £ 8 to check in a 10 kg baggage, in addition, the existing cost of putting luggage weighing up to £ 20 kg into the cargo hold is £ 25.
The maximum size of small bags (such as handbags or laptop bags) that are allowed to be placed on board will increase by 40%, but they still have to be placed under the seat in front.
Passengers who pay a priority check-in fee of £ 6 will continue to be allowed to carry a small bag and small suitcase as hand luggage.
Ryanair believes that some customers may prefer the option of £ 8 because they do not want to drag the bellows through airport security.
It claims that most passengers will not be affected by these changes, as 30% of passengers have purchased priority boarding services and another 30% travel with only a small amount of luggageon bag.
