Eid al-Fitr is one of the major Islamic festivals, and is known as the two major Islamic festivals along with Eid al-Adha.Eid al-Fitr is also known as "Daer", which is the free translation of the Arabic "De Fitul".According to Muhammad's injunction to "fast when you see the new moon and break your fast when you see the new moon", Ramadan begins every year when the new moon appears in early September of the Islamic calendar and ends when the new moon appears in early October of the Islamic calendar.Eid al-Fitr has become a common national festival for China’s 10 ethnic minorities who believe in Islam.12 Eid al-Fitr is a religious gathering where Muslims from all walks of life gather together to worship, pray, remember God, and greet each other with care and friendship.During the festival, every Muslim will participate in various prayers and worship activities to improve personal character and moral cultivation, hoping for more grace and harvest from God.

The main etiquette of Eid al-Fitr are: (1) Busy eating.Muslims eat a small amount of food quickly after the morning prayer on that day to show that they have fulfilled their vows and express gratitude to God.(2) Pay zakat al-fitr.Give alms to the poor, or give them to the mosque.(3) Hold a ceremony.On the morning of that day, Muslims bathed and dressed up, chanted silently, and gathered in the largest mosque in the area to hold a grand ceremony.When there are too many people attending the ceremony, it can be held in a square or in the countryside.After the ceremony, Muslims shake hands with each other, recite holy words and greet each other.In addition to the above main ceremonies, Muslims also have banquets for relatives and friends, and neighbors give each other festive food.Some Muslims recite the Quran at home, praying for blessings and protection for their family; some visit graves and recite sutras in memory of the deceased.Muslims who speak Chinese in China regard Eid al-Fitr as a grand festival and call it "Dade" (that is, a big festival).Muslims of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang call Eid al-Fitr "Ruzi Festival" and call this festival "Xiao De" (i.e. small festival).Eid al-Fitr has become a common national festival for China’s 10 ethnic minorities who believe in Islam.
